It’s the big day! You’ve just gotten an email that says your photo gallery is ready … now what?
Sometimes my photo clients will need to select specific photos and send their selections back to me. This typically happens when a client is choosing photos for retouching or a certain project such as a couple selecting images for a custom designed album or high school seniors choosing a yearbook photo.
Here’s a quick tutorial to make the selection process quick and easy!
Before you can make any selections, you’ll need to explore your photos! For the optimal viewing experience, if you have a computer available, I suggest viewing your gallery there rather than on a mobile device.
Now that you’ve narrowed down your favorites, it’s time to make your selections. To do this, hover over a photo you want to choose, and select the “flag” icon (see photo below).
Sometimes you may be making selections for multiple projects. For example, a high school senior may want to choose one photo for their high school yearbook, but they want to ALSO choose a few photos for prints.
When you choose the flag icon, a message will pop up with the words “Requests from photographer” and different selection “types.”
Click the box for the appropriate selection type.
Want to put the photo in multiple types? Follow steps 2 and 3 again, but this time click on a different box.
When you’ve made all of your selections, it’s time to send them to me! To do this, click on the flag icon on the upper righthand side of your screen.
A “requests from photographer” item will pop up that shows you how many photos you have selected for each type of selection. Click on the circle that represents the flagged photos for the type you want to submit.
A new window will pop up showing you the various photos that you have selected. You will have a chance to remove any that you do not wish to include. To do this, click on the check box on the photos that you wish to remove.
Feel like you’re missing some? Just exit the box, and flag more photos!
Once you’re happy with your choices, tap the “Send to Photographer button. (Please note: Once you submit a selection, you will not be able to make changes to the chosen photographs in the list.)
If you have been asked to make multiple selections, repeat the steps above to submit your other selection types.
I have a strict policy regarding retouching — I do not retouch photographs without a client’s express request. I believe that all bodies are beautiful, and I will NOT shame my clients over their looks.
If you are requesting retouching, I want to know exactly what you have in mind. Please contact me with your thoughts, and we will discuss what the process will entail.
Please Note: Retouching is included in certain packages. It carries an additional cost for others. Feel free to check with me if you’re not sure!
